Three days after a 45-year-old farmer was shot lifeless within the presence of administrative and police officers in Ballia district, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) arrested the principle accused, Dhirendra Pratap Singh, from Lucknow on Sunday.

According to police sources, Singh was arrested from Janeshwar Mishra Park within the state capital.

With this, ten individuals, together with Dhirendra’s brothers Devendra and Narendra, have been arrested within the case. While Dhirendra was booked for homicide, seven others have been held for felony conspiracy. There are at the least 20-25 unnamed individuals within the case, PTI reported.

The position of the Station Officer of Revati Police Station can be being investigated, Awasthi added.
