Eight injured in main hearth at IOC petrol pump close to Raj Bhavan in Odisha

Eight individuals had been injured in a serious hearth that broke out at an Indian Oil Corporation petrol pump close to Raj Bhavan right here on Wednesday, police mentioned.

Two of the injured are vital and have been shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack, mentioned L D Sahu, director of Capital Hospital, the place the remaining are being handled.

Three hearth tenders had been pressed into service and the blaze is now beneath management on the petrol pump, officers mentioned.

 

“Our precedence is to make sure that the fireplace doesn’t unfold to the 2 different tanks containing petrol and diesel,” Commissioner of Police S S Sarangi mentioned.

He requested IOCL to take speedy measures to evacuate the gas from the 2 tankers.

The explanation for the blaze is but to be ascertained, Sarangi added.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik mentioned the state authorities will bear the price of remedy of the injured and wished them speedy restoration.
