JSPL produced rails for high-speed corridors permitted by Indian Railways

Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) is the primary and solely Indian producer to develop 60E1 1175 Heat Treated(HT) Rails appropriate for High velocity and High Axle Load purposes. These Rails are primarily utilized by the Metro Rail Corporations, High-Speed Corridors and Bullet Trains.

According to an official launch, Indian Railways have projected a requirement of 1.8 Lac MT every year of this high-grade 60E1 1175 Heat Treated (HT) Rails. Indian Railways has embarked upon upgrading the Indian Railway Track system to hold 25MT axle load and as much as 200 km/hour velocity.

“Before this growth, all specialty rails have been imported within the nation, JSPL is dedicated for manufacturing of specialty rails to satisfy necessities of Indian Railways and metro rail companies therefore making India Atmanirbhar in procuring rails regionally for various purposes. These rails shall be used within the devoted freight hall, excessive axel load software together with bullet trains,” mentioned V R Sharma, Managing Director of Jindal Steel and Power Limited in an announcement.

Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has permitted the newly developed 60E1 1175 Heat Treated (HT) Rails of Jindal Steel and Power Limited.

According to JSPL, 60E1 1175 Heat Treated (HT) Rails is a superior grade to 1080 HH and shall be utilized by Indian Railways for heavier masses and high-speed software.

Based on inspection and testing performed by the RDSO crew, Railway Board/RDSO had earlier accorded approval for JSPL manufactured 60E1 1080 HH Rails. These Rails are primarily utilized by the Metro Rail Corporations, High-Speed Corridors and Bullet Trains. These rails are equal to European R350HT grade with reference to Rail profile and chemistry however comply with extra stringent Quality checks.

JSPL’s Gr. 880 Rails has additionally been permitted by Railway Board/RDSO as a “Regular Supplier” to Indian Railways.

Apart from 880 Grade principal monitor rails, JSPL has additionally began supplying 1080 grade Head Hardened rails to a number of metro Rails tasks in India which incorporates Rail Vikas Nigam Limited for the development of the Kolkata Metro Rail Project and Pune Metro. JSPL has developed Special rails, Asymmetric Rails, R260, and 1175HT grades for heavy load carrying wagon models of 75 tones/wagon.

V R Sharma acknowledged that JSPL’s manufacturing capability for 60E1 1175 HT Rails has been assessed as 3.24 Lac MT every year by Railway Board/RDSO, which is greater than sufficient to satisfy the total annual demand of Indian Railways, Metro Rail Corporations, High-Speed Corridors.

“JSPL can be exporting rails to adjoining international locations like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the corporate is supplying rails to the African continent as properly. JSPL can be supplying speciality rail blooms for particular rails to France for European railways. With this growth, JSPL positioned itself as a world-class rail producer which is a good achievement by an Indian firm,” he additional added.
