Junior Commissioned Officer killed in Pak firing alongside LoC

The deceased JCO has been recognized as Subedar Sukhdev Singh.

A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army was killed on Monday evening as Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked small arms fireplace and mortar shelling alongside the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

The deceased JCO has been recognized as Subedar Sukhdev Singh of Pouni village in Udhampur district in Jammu & Kashmir. Pointing out that the Pakistani troops violated ceasefire earlier within the night, Defence PRO Lt Colonel Devender Anand mentioned Sukhdev Singh was critically injured within the firing and later succumbed to his accidents. The Indian Army retaliated befittingly, he added.

The deceased JCO was a courageous, extremely motivated and honest soldier, Lt Colonel Anand mentioned, including the nation will at all times stay indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to responsibility.
