A day after Tamil actor Surya blamed the courts for forcing college students to look for NEET amid the pandemic, Madras High Court choose Justice S M Subramaniam wrote to Chief Justice A P Sahi, searching for contempt proceedings in opposition to him.

Surya’s assertion on Sunday got here after 4 NEET candidates in Tamil Nadu dedicated suicide allegedly because of stress and nervousness in writing exams amid the pandemic. He stated, “Courts had been delivering justice by video-conferencing because of life-threatening coronavirus fears (however) are ordering college students to fearlessly go and write the exams.”

On Monday, sources near Justice Subramaniam confirmed that he sought motion in opposition to Surya by arguing that the actor’s assertion “quantities to contempt of court docket because the integrity and devotion of the honourable judges in addition to the judicial system of our nice nation aren’t solely undermined however criticised in a foul form…”
